Gary Perkins combined his love of writing with the political activism that he had been involved with in college by going
to work as a writer for a US Senate candidate. Gary has spent the last eleven years as a writer in the Office of the
Governor in Washington State.
Gary has written several short stories and one novel, Closet Governor, written with his partenr Hal Stockbridge.
They are currently working on their second novel, Pluck the Eagle. Pluck the Eagle is about an American
soldier, Miguel Martinez, who is accused of assassinating the president. With his loyalty to his country and commanders
questioned, Martinez finds strength in his family as he fights to clear his name.
Martinez's struggle is made more
difficult when the country is thrown into a constitutional crisis by the appointed, but unconfirmed, Vice President, General
Joshua Slate, who challenges Speaker of the House Sarah Calvert's rightful claim to the presidency, forcing the country into
martial law.
Gary and Hal have been together for over thirteen years and live in Olympia, Washington.
